Young Composer and Recording Artist Launches Music Catalog of More Than 60 Albums
American born composer and recording artist Luke Parkin unveils an original recorded catalog of 65 albums in the genres of contemporary classical, new age, experimental, ambient, electronica, and music for television and film.
(PRWEB) -- The 65 collections of compositions are now available in Hi-Fi MP3 Formats. They feature an impressive array of musical styles and influences from classical organ and piano music inspired by Bach, Liszt and Scriabin, to modern, French twentieth century music inspired by Oliver Messiaen as well as pop and ambient electronic music. The catalog is also home to dozens of commercial television clips, soundbites, and film music cues available for immediate licensing.
Parkin, age 26, has decided to issue the entire never before heard catalog as half music production library and half album showcase to the public in order to make his major body of work better known. The current opus is the result of music experiments and offerings in both the academic and commercial worlds of contemporary music.
Parkin says that his oeuvre is the culmination of a wide and varied musical experience. His output as a whole is demonstrative of his viewpoint, that new classical composers of serious music must do more to attract the interest of the listening public across genres.
Showcased in the collection are albums such as the Album Leaf Preludes, (nineteen preludes for piano)The Engine Album and MIMIK,(ambient electronic music) Harpworks, (new age music) Piano Etudes, ( neo classical music), and the Chrysalis Symphony, (electronic art music). The artist is responsible for having originated, composed, fully produced, and finalized all musical materials heard at www.lukeparkin.com. Plans for a full sheet music publication and distribution are in the works currently.
Parkin believes that this substantial debut release will demonstrate his viability as both a commercial and classical artist of great appeal that will be appreciated by those that love instrumental commercial music and contemporary art music respectively.
The site displays original album cover art and graphic illustrations by, Robert Beckner, a young American graphic designer based in Maryland, USA, www.bobbybeckner.com, and photography and graphic design by Erin Klingmann of Vancouver Island British Columbia.
Hi-Fi MP3's and press photos, are available for downloading and viewing. All musical content is available for listening and reviewing by publications. Inquire by e-mail at music@llukeparkin.com

The band currently tours all over Texas, playing sold-out shows in locations such as Austin (on world-famous 6th Street), College Station, Corpus Christi, Dallas/Fort Worth, Lubbock and San Angelo. Volunteer dedicated street teams are already promoting the band in each city of the planned tour by handing out flyers, putting up posters and sending out e-blasts. A Lovers Rock Reunion - Remember the Good Old Days
London celebration of 32 years of the Bristish born music genre - Lover's Rock
LONDON (PRWEB) -- Ex ‘Boney M’ Singer, Toyin Adekale, will be joining dozens of UK soulful reggae artists celebrating 32 years of the British music phenomenon ‘Lovers Rock’ in London next week.
One of the few aspects of Reggae which started outside Jamaica and given due respect is Lovers Rock. Artists such as Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs and Johnny Osbourne all spent a long time in London, got into the scene and took it back to Jamaica with them.
Teenage vocalist Louisa Marks was the first British artist to score a lovers rock hit with her 1975 single "Caught You in a Lie". In the years that followed, Lovers Rock became quite popular among inner-city Britons looking for an alternative to political reggae. Other successes have included Maxi Priest, Barry Biggs and not forgetting Janet Kay’s hit ‘Silly Games’.
Created in the 70s by first generation Black British, Lovers Rock became the first indigenous black British pop style. Although the bassline of Lovers Rock was unmistakably, reggae, its light, airy productions acknowledged such influences as soul and pop music and its subject matter was almost exclusively devoted to matters of the heart.
Now, A Lovers Rock Reunion (The Anniversary 32Yrs) will take place on Saturday 23rd July 2005 @ Hackney Empire 291 Mare St, Hackney, London E9 and will also form the highlight of the first Hackney Spice Festival Time: 8.30 p.m. // Show Time: 10.30 p.m. // Curfew: 2.00 a.m.
Full Event Line Up: toyin Adekale, Albion, Beshara, Trevor Dixon, Ginger Williams, Janet-Lee Davis, John McLean, Roydon Foster, Joy Mack, Administrators, Private Collection, Yvonne Douglas, Blood Sister, Neville Morrison, Peter Huningale, Sandra Cross, Louisa Marks, Sandra Reid, Sardonians, Vivian Jones, Winsome, Special Guest: Barry Biggs Backed By: Delroy Murray

Winner Takes All at SugarHill
Stillframe, winners of the annual Rockin for Rise/Battle of the Bands concert, received a lucrative prize package of free recording time at the legendary SugarHill Recording Studios in May 2005, and just completed tracking mixing their new song.
HOUSTON, TX (PRWEB) -- Stillframe, winners of the annual Rockin for Rise/Battle of the Bands concert, received a lucrative prize package of free recording time at the legendary SugarHill Recording Studios in May 2005. The award was donated by SugarHill to support the annual concert organized by The Rise School of Houston to raise funds for pre-school children with Downs Syndrome and other disabilities.
The lucky winners recorded during the month of June where they tracked and mixed a new song in SugarHill’s Studio A with Staff Engineer Leigh Crain. The new song, “On Your Own” was tracked to 2” analog tape and then transferred to Protools.
Stillframe are a 5-piece, heavy alternative rock band from Houston that have been playing for the past 3 years and are notorious for their big sound in live shows. They decided to emulate their live show experience and go for an even bigger sound during tracking. “We used different guitar cabinets including a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier and a Rectoverb to get that fat sound”, explained lead singer Will Wadkins.
The new song will be released on an upcoming EP where the band plans to shop it to various labels and distribution deals. The song will also receive airplay on Clear Channel’s Alternative/Rock radio station “The Buzz” 94.5FM where it will be featured on the popular Texas Buzz show, hosted by Zakk United.
