Arms of Kismet Rolls Out "Auriculara (Listen to Me)"
New single blends classic and postmodern influences.
Clifton, VA (PRWEB) -- Arms of Kismet releases "Auriculara (Listen to Me)" as the second single from its recent CD, Cutting Room Rug. Following "Outbound Train" to radio, "Auriculara" blends genres (classic rock, '80s pop, hip-hop) in offbeat ways, fusing rants and laments in a playful cocktail of satire and sincerity.
"Auriculara" was written and produced by Mark Doyon, mastered by Jon Astley (Tori Amos, George Harrison, Pete Townshend), and released by independent label Wampus Multimedia. Guests include Eamon Loftus (lead guitar) and Paul Golder (backing vocals).
Doyon released CDs as Wampeters during the 1990s, and published Bonneville Stories, a book of fiction, in 2001. He was executive producer of this year's Warren Zevon tribute, Hurry Home Early: the Songs of Warren Zevon.
He sees "Auriculara" as a blend. "The ingredients have always been there," he says. "It all comes down to the recipe. As Pete Townshend put it, 'I didn't invent the chords.'"
"Auriculara" by Arms of Kismet can be accessed by radio programmers through Wampus Multimedia (www.wampus.com) and RadioWave Airplay Monitor (www.radiowavemonitor.com).

Munch Music Launches Classic Rock Themed Studio Targeting Rapidly Growing Teen Fan Base and a Generation of Rock and Roll Dads
Rock & Roll Dream Machine launches. Munch Music Grand Opening Celebration features recording artists White Noise and South Delta Pop Idol winner Mackenzie Snape.
Delta, B.C. (PRWEB) -- On July 15th Munch Music, www.MyMunchMusic.com and www.RockandRollDream.com a rock themed recording studio and music facility opened its doors in Delta, B.C., Canada, to rock and roll fans and performers aged from 13 - 54. Munch Music launched with a VIP/Media event attended by avid followers of White Rock based recording artists White Noise. The successful event proved that music has no age barrier and that rock music is on a "roll," further evidenced by the fact that rock singers had a face and voice at G-8 meetings and through their efforts to change the face of poverty at the Live 8 events.
Before the White Noise performance, Mackenzie Snape, the recent South Delta Pop Idol competition winner, took to the Munch stage. Mackenzie was backed musically by her brother Patrick Snape and Munch Music’s founder and President: Taylor Van Zant.
White Noise followed with a powerful, rockin' set comprised of songs from their latest CD, "Listen." The performance was very well received by the Munch crowd, who then had the opportunity to have copies of "Listen" autographed by the band. "Listen" will also be available for sale at Munch Music, as well as online through the website www.MyMunchMusic.com. Munch owner, 16 year old Taylor Van Zant said, "This band is exactly the kind of music my friends and I love," as he smiled for the first time in many weeks, following weeks of stressful preparations for the opening launch. Click here to view White Noise’s site: www.ThisIsWhiteNoise.com
The opening weekend allowed residents of Tsawwassen to tour the Munch premises; make musical purchases; book studio recording time; sign up for guitar lessons; and a number of young musicians brought in their instruments leading to impromptu jam sessions on the Munch stage. A number of "Rock & Roll Dads and Moms" also toured the premises, and were excited to hear that Munch Music will feature special evening events for them to strut their musical riffage. The Rock & Roll Moms and Dads events will be in addition to regular Jam Nights which will be open to musicians of all ages.
The concept behind Munch Music is simple: "You have a Rock & Roll Dream and we provide the means for you to live that dream." Life at Munch Music is never boring, and here you're never too old or too young to be a bona fide "Jukebox Hero." Munch Music provides the fulfillment of musical dreams through a state of the art digital recording studio, the opportunity to promote your new CD both in-store and online, and a staff of experienced lifelong musicians who are available to instruct and guide you through your musical journey. And to top it all off, we are able to offer our services and expertise at extremely affordable prices that should suit the budget of even the youngest new chart toppers.
The Munch Music website features an extensive list of music industry links from classic rock to copyrighting your own music for avid music fans.

Indie Label Scores Podcasting Hit on iTunes
Alpha Pup Records, a small independent label based in Los Angeles, enjoys massive success with its DJ-mixed podcast on iTunes. The "Alternative Hip-Hop Lounge" has attracted over 40,000 subscribers since its launch on July 1st, and shows no signs of slowing down.
(PRWEB) -- Alpha Pup Records, a Los Angeles-based independent record label, has become one of the first true underdog success stories in the podcasting phenomenon. Since the launch of iTunes 4.9 on June 28, podcasting has caught on like wildfire, with iTunes users racking up over a million subscriptions within the first two days.
Alpha Pup Records was one of the first independent labels to deliver a music podcast. Blending avant-garde rap with experimental electronic beats, Alpha Pup's "Alternative Hip-Hop Lounge" podcast debuted on July 1, and was added to the iTunes Podcast Directory on July 3. Since then, it's been nothing but a skyrocket up the iTunes Top 100 Podcast Chart.
Initially entering the Top 100 Podcast Chart on July 9 at #96, the "Alternative Hip-Hop Lounge" reached #77 within 24 hours, and then cracked the Top 50 on July 11. Alpha Pup's podcast has maintained that position ever since. Without feature positioning or banner placement, the label's podcast has been charting higher than offerings from ESPN, CNN, ABC, BBC, and even podcast pioneer KCRW.
"We're simply astonished," said Daddy Kev, co-owner of the underground hip-hop label. "To think that a label of our size can compete with multi-billion dollar media conglomerates on a broken shoe-string budget... it's an impossible dream come true."
Co-owned by business partner/fiancee Danyell Jariel, Alpha Pup is a small independent record label, operating out of Kev and Danyell's two-bedroom home near Downtown Los Angeles. "The recording studio and label office -- I mean, our two desks -- are in one bedroom, and we sleep in the other," Kev explained. "The garage is the stockroom, and we do most of our mailings on the kitchen table or on the couch."
Despite their modest surroundings, the success of Alpha Pup's podcast has been worldwide. On the iTunes Podcast Charts in Europe, the "Alternative Hip-Hop Lounge" is on fire, charting #7 in France, #12 in Italy, and Top 30 in the United Kingdom and Germany. In less than a month, the "Alternative Hip-Hop Lounge" podcast has gained an astronomical number of subscribers, over 40,000 worldwide.
"I give most of the credit to the artists who are featured on the podcast because it shows that quality independent music can prevail in an industry dominated by big business," said Danyell. "Our artist roster is a very close knit family, and we couldn't be happier for the awareness this is generating for them."
Established in 2004, Alpha Pup Records is an artist-owned and operated indie label, specializing in underground hip-hop and experimental electronic music. Signed artists include AWOL One, Daddy Kev, Busdriver, The Grouch, Existereo, Ricci Rucker and Paris Zax. "Alternative Hip-Hop Lounge: Episode 2" mixed by Los Angeles producer Omid was released July 15. Alpha Pup has plans to release two podcasts a month, featuring music from it's catalog, and creatively mixed by Alpha Pup artists and affiliates.
