She's soulful, nostalgic, melodic, and genuine. Singer-songwriter Circe Link has a sound that while inspired by great singers such as Patsy Cline, Sara Vaughn, and Fiona Apple has a sound all of her own that is irresistibly catchy and equally harmonic. You wouldn't expect such a well rounded vocal performance from a musician who has only been in action since 2001 when, as she put it, a "funny little song" popped into her head -- one after another after another. It was a pretty instantaneous realization for Circe Link that music was her true calling.

Since this time she has been very active in her local music scene with many live performances in the Los Angeles Area and two Albums recorded, "More songs" and "Lets Get Together," both smacking of a quality rarely found by such new performer. Besides the great vocals on these albums Circe seems to have pulled together a bevy of very talented players with impressive styles and skills. Both albums bring together a colorful blend of nostalgic country, steamy jazz, and weeping blues. One of my favorite aspects on either album is the twangy stand up bass present in nearly every track. Another of Circe's signatures seems to be the humor and wit woven into the lyrics of each song she writes. A number of the songs on both albums can actually be previewed through her website, so definitely be sure to check those out. For anyone into acoustic female jazz-blues musicians (bordering on swing) Circe Link is a diamond in the rough. ````
